TeleSpider Search & Rescue Robot

Nicknamed "TeleSpider", this robot is a hexapod designed to aid in ground disaster (e.g. earthquake, fire, etc.) search and rescue operations. The robot is controlled remotely by a user using a VR headset and a controller.

As Robotics Prototype Engineer at Archiact, I worked in a team of 5 to develop TeleSpider. Over the course of the project I:

  • Improved the main circuit design, solving prior issues and reducing footprint by 50%
  • Validated and verified the improved circuit board, ensuring specifications compliance
  • Redesigned the robot wireless vision system, improving transmission range by 3,000%
  • Weatherproofed electrical hardware, achieving steady operation in disaster conditions
